SHAPING THE GREEN TRANSITION

SHAPE ECOSYSTEM

Driving sustainable transformation in manufacturing

What do we want to achieve?

We want to accelerate the green transition of manufacturing by shaping an industry that is regenerative, resilient, resource-efficient, and sustainable by design.

By reducing the carbon footprint of manufacturing and transforming the way products, materials, and industrial value chains are designed, used, and renewed, we aim to create a future where circularity, intelligent technologies, and sustainable business models are the industry standard.

How do we achieve it?

We achieve this by unlocking the full potential of circular economy, sustainable materials, remanufacturing, digitalization, and intelligent industrial processes.

Together with our ecosystem partners, we drive co-innovation, cross-sector collaboration, and knowledge sharing to develop scalable circular solutions, data-driven manufacturing models, and sustainable business concepts.

Through pilots, experimentation, and ecosystem collaboration, we develop new approaches for repair, refurbishment, remanufacturing, sustainable materials, intelligent value chains, and resource-efficient manufacturing processes that accelerate the transformation of the manufacturing industry.

Our Work Packages

Wait - what exactly is SHAPE?

SHAPE is an innovation ecosystem launched by Mirka‍ ‍to create new solutions for the green transition in the manufacturing industry.

Business Finland has granted 20 million euros in development funding for the SHAPE program as well as 50 million euros to the ecosystem companies surrounding the project.

SHAPE is a unique project and the first of its kind in Finland.

What makes us unique is our commitment to decreasing the footprint of manufacturing, advancing remanufacturing, redefining sustainability standards in surface finishing and accelerating the green transition.
